Masters Degree Entrance Requirements:
All students
1. be 18 years of age or older or have written permission from a parent or legal guardian to enroll in a college program and register for classes, and must attest to their age as part of the enrollment agreement.
2. complete an admissions application with goals essay.
3. complete an Enrollment Agreement for each attending semester
Unconditional Admission
- Applicants who have completed a master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university will be admitted
unconditionally. No test score is required. An official transcript showing completion of a masters degree or higher is required.
Students with a master's degree from an unaccredited institution should see Admission from Unaccredited Institutions
- Applicants holding a baccalaureate degree from an accredited College or University with minimum overall undergraduate
grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or 3.0 grade point average on the last 30 semester hours. All hours completed in the
term in which the 30 hours were reached will be used to calculate the grade point average. All transcripts are required for
admission. Students with a baccalaureate degree from an unaccredited institution should see Admission from Unaccredited
Institutions
- Completion of the ACAS admissions application
- Completion of the goals essay. See Goals Essay Requirements
- Applicants must achieve a scaled score of of 200 or higher or a percentile score of 30 or higher on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).

Official copies of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) will be accepted in lieu of the MAT. The minimum achieved GRE score should be 500 on the verbal and 500 on the quantitative portions of the GRE, for an overall minimum total of 1000 points. The MCAT and the VCAP examination may be substituted for the MAT for graduates of accredited veterinary schools. Any test score received by ACAS must not be older than 10 years.

Conditional Admission
Conditional admission may be granted under certain circumstances to applicants who cannot satisfy all unconditional admission
requirements.
Baccalaureate Degree Holders
Students who earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university but lack all requirements for
unconditional admission, such as an acceptable test score, may be granted conditional admission for a maximum of 6 semester
hours with a 3.0 grade point average.. Students will be granted unconditional admission after completion of the 6 semester
hours with a 3.0 grade point or better average. When these conditions have been satisfied, the program dean will notify the
student in writing and send a copy of such notification to the Department. Approved graduate course work taken while the
student is under conditional status will apply toward the graduate degree.
Admission from Unaccredited Institutions
Students seeking admission to ACAS who have received their degree from an institution not recognized and accredited by one of
the regional accrediting agencies must be approved for admission by the Dean of the school. The following materials must be
submitted to the Admissions Office thirty days in advance of the initial enrollment:
1. an application for admission.
2. an official transcript and a transcript from all schools at which the student has completed courses.
3. Students are also required to submit the following in addition to an official transcript:
- course syllabi
- faculty credentials
- grading standards
- a school catalogue
