ACAS Licensure
The basic authority to exist as a college or university in the United States comes from its home state. By maintaining its main campus and administrative offices in Crescent City, Florida, the American College of Applied Science
(ACAS) is
authorized to operate and award degrees from the Commission on Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. The CIE is the state's coordinating and licensing agency for all private higher education in Florida. As such,
the
Commission on Independent Education grants licensure to degree-granting institutions such as ACAS that clearly demonstrate sufficient finances, satisfactory educational programs, appropriate faculty, and sound institutional policies
and
practices. ACAS also demonstrates that its students have access to accurate information about the institution; its programs; its admission, evaluation, and dismissal policies; its tuition and fees; and its refund policies.
Prospective students may obtain additional information regarding ACAS by contacting the Commission on Independent Education, Florida Department of Education at 325 West Gaines Street, Suite 1414, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0400;
888-224-6684. Complaints are to be made to the attention of the Executive Director. Email:
